Star Ocean First Departure Strategy Guide

Shipping now is my latest official strategy guide for the video game Star Ocean First Departure for the Sony PlayStation Portable. Co-authored with fellow vet Greg Sepelak, the book covers this great remake of the original game in the series.

First released by Enix in 1996 for the Super Famicom in Japan and developed by Tri-Ace, this is the first time this game is released in English for Western audiences to enjoy. Star Ocean is a game featuring a party-based action battle system. Combat initiates through randomly occurring battles, during which you control one of the party members with the ability to assume control of any party member any time. The game features complex dungeons and towns to explore while enjoying a complex story that seamlessly blends sci-fi and fantasy elements. Cutscenes feature full English voice acting, and several scenes have been produced as high-quality, exciting animes. The remake features a 3D world map, CG rendered backgrounds, redrawn character sprites, and a reorganized menu system.
