New Arkham City Images Looking Familiar
By Dan Birlew | Posted February 16, 2011 in Game Previews | 2 Comments »GameInformer.com has a new batch of screenshots up today from the upcoming Batman: Arkham City, the sequel to the game that holds the Guinness World Record for ‘Most Critically Acclaimed Superhero Game Ever’. While I’m hard at work on my next strategy guide, the easiest way to update my blog is by grabbing such images and reposting them. But I can’t help but start to notice some all-too familiar sights in Arkham City…
Such as, for one, The Joker. Didn’t we defeat him in the last game? Do we really have to deal with him again, so soon? I was hoping for more Catwoman and Two-Face, but this is the second image of Harley released and now we see Gotham’s clown prince of crime. Plus there’s a shot of Joker’s Fun House, which resembles the construction built by the inmates outside the Visitor Center in the previous game (link here). Don’t get me wrong, I’ve always been a Joker fan. I also enjoyed his endless taunting prattle throughout Arkham Asylum, right up until the minute I got to take him down at the end. But these screens are already giving me a case of “been there, done that,” and I don’t like feeling that way before a game comes out. Hopefully Batman’s foray into The Joker’s lair will be brief, and we’ll get on with new material immediately.

I honestly wouldn’t worry, I think they’ve trying to avoid revealing too much new yet, and the Hugo Strange trailer was awesome.
Hamill didn’t want to reprise his role as the Joker for this because he thought how it was done in AA was perfect, but they sent him the script and the way the character has been handled was a decent reason to have him in there. If that’s the case then I’m fairly confident about it.

“Nevertheless, there’s plenty to be gauged from his final remarks, certainly about the fate of The Joker in this second part. ‘This will be my last, there’s no question about that. But it’s the last hurrah.’”
Good link, that is reassuring!!! Thanks.
