Resident Evil 2 for PC: Ripping Music Files
  • Any idea whether there's a way I can rip .MP3s from the RE2 Platinum PC to my computer? (WinXP). I know that playing the game on XP can be tricky; really I'm just interested in copying music files.

    Are the music files proprietary?

Kinda. BGM is a dev's version of OGG that no one seems to have the tools for. Recommend downloading the PlayStation files (PSF) here: http://www.emuparadise.me/music/psf/Biohazard_2_-_Dual_Shock_Version/1146 and for conversion tips read here: http://www.neillcorlett.com/psf/faq.html
  • Darn. I was hoping there would be an easier way.

Of course, there's also the RE2 soundtrack CD, but then I'd have to pay through the nose.
  • There are some unofficial OST rips out there which contain tracks not included in any official OST, so I know some people have managed to do it. But I haven't seen them in years. I know I have a copy of them somewhere on a CD or DVD, I can try find them if you want the tracks but it's not the same as properly ripping your own though I guess.
